President Accepts 2026 Local Elections Outcome, Pledges Continued Reforms

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated all candidates who secured seats in the 2026 Local Council and Women’s Development Committee Elections held across the Maldives.

In a message shared on social media following the announcement of preliminary results, the President stated that he respectfully accepts the outcome of both the Local Council and Women’s Development Committee Elections, as well as the Public Referendum conducted nationwide.

He emphasized the importance of upholding the democratic will of the people and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to serving the nation in line with public expectations.

The President further assured citizens that the government will continue to undertake necessary efforts to address areas requiring improvement. He noted that these efforts would remain guided by the aspirations and needs of the Maldivian people.

Reiterating his dedication, President Muizzu pledged to work for the benefit of all citizens and to strengthen governance in accordance with the outcomes of the electoral process.
