Visit Maldives Signs Agreement to Participate in Belgrade Expo 2027

The Maldives has officially confirmed its participation in the upcoming Belgrade Expo 2027 after the Visit Maldives signed a formal agreement during the event’s second planning meeting in Belgrade, Serbia.

The agreement was signed by the CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives, Ibrahim Shiuree, marking the country’s commitment to take part in the international exhibition scheduled from May 15 to August 15, 2027.

Belgrade Expo 2027 will be held under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.” Organizers expect the event to bring together representatives from more than 120 countries and attract over four million visitors.

According to Visit Maldives, the signing of the agreement concludes the initial planning phase and begins the next stage of practical preparations for the event. The Maldives plans to use the global platform to highlight the country’s tourism development, environmental conservation initiatives, and its unique culture and national identity.

Visit Maldives stated that participation in the expo will also provide a valuable opportunity to promote the Maldives across the Balkan region and wider European markets. The exhibition will further allow the country to showcase the Maldivian government’s commitment to sustainable tourism and marine conservation to an international audience.
