Maldivian Launches Scheduled Seaplane Services to AA. Thoddoo
The national airline, Maldivian, has officially commenced scheduled seaplane operations to AA. Thoddoo, fulfilling a key presidential pledge of Mohamed Muizzu
A special inauguration ceremony was held on the island to mark the launch of the new service. The event was attended by the Minister of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage, Adam Naseer Ibrahim, along with the Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited, Ibrahim Iyas. Senior officials from the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and members of the Thoddoo Island Council were also present
Maldivian will operate seaplane flights to Thoddoo twice a week, every Thursday and Saturday. The airline announced that flight frequency will be increased in response to passenger demand. To make the service accessible to local residents, a special one-way fare of MVR 799 has been introduced
Ahead of the launch, a dedicated seaplane platform was established in Thoddoo. Passenger convenience has also been enhanced with check-in facilities arranged at the Thoddoo Council Office
As one of the Maldives’ well-known local tourism destinations, AA. Thoddoo is expected to benefit significantly from the new service, which aims to strengthen connectivity and further stimulate the island’s tourism industry.
